The Education Policy 2020
National Education Policy 2020 emphasizes on the development of the creative potential of a student. We at Aparnaa World School thought to write about it. It will help the students & parents understand what is the new education policy. Furthermore, it will also help them understand how it is going to benefit them.
As we said that the new education policy is aimed at the creative & holistic development of a student. But, how is it going to be done? Let’s discuss the principles and find out.
Recognising the Student’s Talent
The first & foremost thing to understand is every child is different. Also, each one is special in its own way. So, the policy is designed in such a way that if the child is good at art then he will be trained to become an artist. Similarly, if the student is interested in mathematics, then he/she will be trained to be a mathematician.
Focus on Student’s Talent
Our traditional education system doesn’t focus on talent. Talent is to be honed apart from the education they get in average schools. But, now the talent will be the center of the student’s education. Everything the student does or studies will directly or indirectly work on the talent possessed by him/her.
Flexibility to Choose
Our traditional education system was not at all flexible according to the students. But, now this thing has changed. The subjects, streams & other variables will be tailor-made keeping the personality of the student in mind. It helps with the fostering of the child’s unique capabilities.
No Hard Separations between Streams
Sometimes some talents require a combination of different streams. For example, a photographer needs to understand colour as well as optics. Understanding colours is a part of the arts stream whereas optics is a part of science. So, there will be no hard separation between the streams. It aids in the enhancement of the student’s talent.
Emphasis on Conceptual Learning
The emphasis will always be on conceptual understanding. Like a digital artist will not only get to know different colours, but he/she will understand how the colours affect human perception. So, conceptual learning will help the student to be the best in his field.
